Even before the internet started I have always wanted to invest my time into a certain project. The project would not follow the usual way of earning a living. Look for broad terms first and this will lead you to search for the more in depth terms with lower traffic but also lower competition. Make sure your keyword term uses the "phrase" and "exact" match terms.
Make sure your keyword is targeted to what you are selling. This is to attract the right people to your web pages.
The next technique is driving traffic. Now this can be spilt into a number of methods. However the best way is to start writing articles like this one and creating videos. However to be on the top search on google you need to optimise your content.
This means to include your keyword phrase in the title and a number of times in the content of your article. This is all about on the page optimisation.
Your next technique is to use off the page optimisation. This means that you put in back links from high quality web sites to your web site. You can do this by using book marking sites and commenting on high ranking blogs. In fact you can do this on any high quality site which allows you to place a back link to your web page.
Always use the technique of linking from another site with anchor text. The anchor text must be the keyword phrase you are using
